Ok... so now it has definately been a while....

My last post was May 1, 2009... a LONG time ago. I have decided that I would try to post more often again! I can't promise how often that will be... but no one reads this anyway! LOL

I am a crafter... some might say a craftaholic... "Hi, my name is Maddy and I AM a craftaholic"... phew... that's the first step. This blog will be mostly about knitting, rug hooking and my life... but there very well maybe other crafty tidbits thrown in for good measure.

Yesterday, my sister-in-law and I drove to Kitchener for the Knitter's fair. WOW! We drooled over lots of different yarns and patterns. I purchased some beautiful cotton yarn to knit a shrug from Americo and some hemp yarn to knit a sweater coat. I cast on for the shrug last night. I will try to take some pics tomorrow during the day to post my progress. We had a blast... so much fiber... so little time! I did show restraint... actually I showed lots of restraint because I didn't even buy one skein of sock yarn, which is usually my weakness. I can't walk in to a yarn store without buying at least one skein.

Well that's it for tonight... tomorrow we are heading out to Value Village to look at Halloween costumes for the kidlets and I am hoping to pick up some t-shirts for cheap so I can start hooking my rug... well the first rug anyways!

It's been a while....

It's been a long time since I have posted here.... not that anyone reads this anyway! LOL! But I did want to post here a few of my pages that I have completed... they are all a work in progress.. I don't know if I will ever "finish" them... as soon as I learn something new... I go back and re-do or add-to the page.... LOL.... I will credit the designers where possible... I have had a few computer crashes... and lost a lot of stuff so I will do my best... here goes....

I just LOVE, LOVE, LOVE these kits from Shabby Princess... I believe it is "Festival"... I am not sure who owns the bird, greenery or frame... I'll try to look it up later...

This is the first page that I created (and the only one so far).. for my second born son... I am really proud of this one... I have no idea who designed what on this one, but I did steal the design from a gallery I was in once.... I wasn't planning on uploading this... but I thought what the heck!

And this one... this was my first-ever page... what do you think? My five year old said that he wanted a paper with cars on it... so I went from there... He thinks I am the best thing since sliced bread... lol.. He is right, you know! LOL

So, if there is anyone out there in blogland... that actually has come across my blog... I would love some constructive criticism... Tell me what you think! Thanks! And if you think they suck... I won't hold that against you! LOL

New Blog Header... finally!

So, after many a night looking for a cute blog header... I decided to make one. I used Shabby Princess's kits Promise and Festival... I love both of those... Heck, I love all of her work...

Making the blog header didn't take me too long.. it was trying to get it added to my blog.... that was the more difficult part! I found a lot of great resources out there to help in my task. In other news, I have finally gotten through all my scrapbooking links that I have been so lucky to have discovered... Since I am new to scrapbooking too... I have been mostly searching for the freebies... I don't want to invest a lot of money right now if I am not going to spend a lot of time on this hobby... or have a lot of time to spend on this hobby!

Now... I just have to figure out how to get my background on my page.... hmmm... that might take another couple of days! lol

Getting everything organized....

I have been a downloading fiend... and FINALLY I have everything uploaded in PSE. I have started tagging... but have a long way to go. I do have everything tagged by Designer and collection name... but I haven't got everything tagged further... I am trying to show restraint and not download anything else until it is all tagged... but let's face it... I am weak! There is too much good stuff out there to ooh and aahh over... I don't think I can resist!

Well, here is my crafty blog!

I am new to blogging and new to Digital scrapbooking... right now, I think I am just addicted to downloading. There are so many great sites out there with beautiful kits, ideas, layouts and templates. I am in awe over some people's creativity and their talent. I bow to you all! The sole purpose for creating this blog is to organize my Digital Scrapbooking links.

As I said I am new to the whole Digiscrapping scene... but I can also knit (which I do quite frequently), quilt, sew, cross-stitch... so there may be a few random non-digi scrap posts here too! I basically like crafts... anything that is a constructive waste of time so to speak. I can't justify sitting in front of the tv and watching a show or a movie and not have my hands busy... drives me crazy!

So there you have it... my first blog... my first post... my first words out in the digital world... it's a good day!
